    Supermarket chain Asda is to be the first to sell bananas from the Canary Islands, in an attempt to reduce the fruit's considerable carbon footprint.

    Building Environmental Assessment

    BRANZ has developed a Plan for development of a qhole building, whole of life assessment framework for New Zealand, in order to provide a level playing field for assessment of the environmental performance of buildings (wtih an initial focus on offices).

    The Plan is based on BRANZ research initiated in 2010 and industry feedback received during a consultation towards the end of 2012.  Click here for the full report.

    LCANZ Project - Life Cycle Impact Assessment Categories

    Environmental impact categories commonly used in LCA have been summarised by members of the LCANZ Best Practice Working Group (including Kimberly Robertson, Carla Coelho, Dave Drysdale, Simon Love, James McDevitt and John Andrews). The summaries include information on the cause, outcomes and the relevance to New Zealand.

You will study for a PhD at Massey University in association with the Building Research Association of New Zealand (BRANZ).

    1st New Zealand Student Symposium on Life Cycle Management

    The NZLCM Centre ran it's 1st New Zealand Student Symposium on Life Cycle Management  on Tuesday 16 October 2012 at Massey University in Palmeston North. It was greatly received with 23 participants attending.

    2nd New Zealand Life Cycle Assessment conference

    We are pleased to announce that abstract submission is now open for the 2nd New Zealand Life Cycle Assessment conference which will be held on 28-29 March 2012 in Auckland.
