    Four Case Studies of Businesses’ Experience Evaluating Product Environmental Footprints

    The Washington Department of Ecology and Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, working with the Oregon Sustainability Board, commissioned four diverse case studies of businesses with experience evaluating their product environmental footprints.

    The businesses have used product environmental footprinting to assess environmental conditions, identify opportunities for improvement, uncover business potential, and communicate with customers. The case studies highlight benefits, challenges, lessons learned and best practices.

    The call for applications for the 2017 LCA Award has been extended to 13 July 2017. Individuals and organizations based in Africa, Latin America and Caribbean, and Asia are eligible to apply.

    Upcoming LCA Certified Practitioner Exam – 27th July 2017

    LCANZ will be conducting an LCA Certified Practitioner Exam on the 27th of July 2017 at Massey University, Palmerston North from 10am – 3pm.

    Under an arrangement entered into with the American Centre for Life Cycle Assessment (ACLCA), Australian and New Zealand candidates who meet the Exam Prerequisites and who successfully complete the examination will be certified as LCACPs, and this certification will be recognised in Australia, New Zealand and the USA.

    Canopy launches 2017 Ecopaper Database

    Canopy of Vancouver, B.C., has launched its updated Ecopaper Database, described by the non-profit organization as the Holy Grail of directories for North America's Best Environmental Papers. The 2017 iteration of this online resource features more than 450 printing and writing grade papers, office stationery products and packaging with high recycled, agricultural residue/alternative or Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) fiber content.
