Dr Roohollah (Roo) Kalatehjari is a Senior Lecturer in Geotechnical Engineering with a background in Mining Engineering. He is the leader of the Advanced Construction and Sustainable Future research cluster at AUT and the founder and director of the AUT Geotechnical Engineering Laboratory. His research interests include additive manufacturing in construction, soil improvement and stabilization, slope stability analysis and monitoring, optimization techniques in engineering, and foundation design. A main focus of his recent research is reducing the carbon footprint of construction materials and activities.
