AGM and Committee Update

The Life Cycle Association of New Zealand hosted its 10th Annual General Meeting last month in Auckland. It was fantastic to see such a diverse group of people coming together for this event, including a number of founding members of the association as well as some very new members, representatives from technical consulting, industry and academia.

The Annual General Meeting highlighted achievements from the previous year including some major milestones of the acknowledgement of LCA in NZ government and the upgrade of the website which is now live at www.lcanz.org.nz (see our recent news article LCANZ Website and Member Database launch for more info). The meeting then focused on future plans with a strong commitment to increasing member events over the next 6-12 months, including workshops, webinars and a 1-day Summit to coincide with celebration of the associations’ ten year anniversary. The AGM also passed a motion to update the membership fees. The new fees will be reflected in the annual invoices, due out shortly.

The committee thanks the outgoing committee offices of President Barbara Nebel, Treasurer John McArthur and Secretary Kimberly Robertson for their dedication and service. Barbara and John stood for re-election and were duly re-elected at the meeting, Emily Townsend was also re-elected for another term and AJay Morris was elected as a new member to the committee. They join existing committee members Shreyasi Majumdar, Adam Schofield, Joanne Duncan and Kelly McLean. One committee position remains vacant, watch this space for a call to membership for nominations.
